Burmannia itoana Makino
Family: BurmanniaceaeJapanese: ルリシャクジョウ (瑠璃錫杖) [Rurishakujō]
It is rare to find one of these small mycoheterotrophs with an open flower. They pop up in groups from shallow flats of dead leaves and are easily trampled despite their bright color, which is a little more purple (redder) than shows in in my photos. Thanks to Mitsuhashi-san for helping me learn to find them.
