Daphnimorpha kudoi (Makino) Nakai
Family: ThymelaeaceaeJapanese: シャクナンガンピ (石楠雁皮) [Shakunanganpi]
One of my favorite plants, but its range is limited to the sheltered scrub of some of the highest mountain tops and for most of the year it looks like dead twigs. The blooms have a sweet jasmine-like scent.
