Family: SaxifragaceaeJapanese: ヤクシマダイモンジソウ (屋久島大文字草) [Yakushima Daimonjisō]
The season is short and its range is limited, but the flowers, shaped like the character '大' (dai) are unmistakable. Several varieties are listed as present in Yakushima.
